This spicy BBQ sauce goes great with baby back ribs. Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter |
1 cup chopped yellow onion |
3 garlic cloves, chopped |
1/2 cup ketchup |
1/4 cup brown sugar |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon ground pepper |
1/4 teaspoon tabasco sauce |
1 tablespoon lemon juice |
1 tablespoon basil (dry or fresh) |
1 tablespoon chili powder |
1 tablespoon cayenne pepper (or to taste) |
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes |
Directions:
1. In a medium sauce pan over medium high heat melt the butter then add the onions and garlic. Saute until the onions are tender (about 5 minutes). Add the remaining ingredients, bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer until ready to serve. You can add the Cayenne pepper to suit your taste. I usually make a weak batch for the light weights and a hotter batch for the real lovers of a spicy sauce. |
