Busy Saturday, had some chicken breasts, and thought, need to make something I can do and forget. PUlled out my faithful crockpot and put this together Ingredients:
6-8 pieces of chicken (breasts, legs, thighs) (use bones & skin) |
1 (14.5) can diced or chopped tomatoes |
1/3 cup ketchup |
1/4 cup red wine vinegar |
3 heaping tablespoons of brown sugar |
1 tbsp worcestershire sauce |
2 tbsp dijon mustard |
2 tbsp lemon juice |
salt & pepper |
1 tbsp smoke flavor paprika |
1/2 tsp thyme |
1/2 tsp basil |
dash red pepper flakes |
1 tsp liquid smoke |
1 red pepper chopped |
2 large onion sliced |
Directions:
1. Brown chicken in frying pan and remove, put in crock pot 2. Add vegetables 3. In large bowl, mix all liquid and seasonings and blend well 4. Pour over chicken 5. Cook on high for 1 hours and then lower to Low and continue cooking for atleast 6 hours, |
