This recipe came from my mom, who got it from who-knows-where, but it's a family favorite. This also works well with game, like venison, elk or antelope. You could also shred the chicken after it's cooked and have BBQ Chicken sandwiches - yummy! Ingredients:
1/2 onion, chopped |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon celery seed |
1/2 teaspoon chili powder |
2 tablespoons brown sugar |
1 dash tabasco sauce |
2 tablespoons vinegar |
2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce |
1/2 cup ketchup |
1 cup water |
4 chicken breasts |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. 2. Combine all ingredients in a Dutch oven, or other oven-proof casserole dish. 3. Add chicken breasts. 4. Cover and bake 45 minutes. 5. Uncover and continue baking 30-45 minutes more or until sauce thickens. |
