Bavarian Patties with Sauerkraut |

An unusual and tasty way to serve up your ground beef and kraut! Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs ground beef |
1/2 cup applesauce |
1/3 cup dry breadcrumbs |
1/3 cup finely chopped onion |
1 large egg |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon allspice |
1 (16 ) can drained sauerkraut |
Directions:
1. Mix all the ingredients together except the sauerkraut. 2. Shape the mixture into 6 patties, each about 3/4-inch thick. 3. Brown the patties in a large skillet over medium heat, turning once. 4. Drain off the excess fat. 5. Spoon the sauerkraut onto the patties. 6. Cover and simmer for about 15 minutes. 7. Serve openfaced on good, crusty buns. A dollop of sour cream and a bit of mustard is good, too! |
