Easily made chowder that is warming and filling . It uses two canned soups as a base for itself, and with the addition of some cabbage, smoked sausage, carrots, and caraway seeds you have a bowl of heaven. Ingredients:
1 lb. beef sausage (hillshire, etc.), sliced 1/4 thick rounds |
2 cups carrots, sliced thinly |
1 tsp. caraway seeds |
2 tbl. butter |
1 can cream of mushroom soup |
1 can cream of celery soup |
1 can milk |
1 can water |
3 cups cabbage, shredded |
Directions:
1. In a stock pot, brown the sausage, carrots and caraway in butter. 2. Add the remaining ingredients and cook (stirring often), until cabbage is tender. 3. That's it! Serve. |
