baked in a spring-form pan-a type of cheese cake. I got this from the Philadelphia Cream Cheese Cookbook Another big favorite for Christmas brunch Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine |
1/3 cup sugar |
1/4 teaspoon vanilla |
1 cup flour |
18 ounces cream cheese |
1/4 cup sugar |
1 egg |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla |
4 cups sliced apples |
1/3 cup sugar |
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/4 cup sliced almonds |
Directions:
1. cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. 2. add flour; mix well. 3. spread dough onto bottom and1 1/2 half inches high up sides of 9-inch springform pan. 4. Combine softened cream cheese and sugar, mixing until well blended. 5. Blend in egg and vanilla. 6. pour into pastry lined pan. 7. Toss apples with combined sugar and cinnamon. 8. spoon apple mixture over cream cheese layer. 9. sprinkle with nuts. 10. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes. 11. Reduce oven temperature to 400 degrees; continue baking 25 minutes. 12. Loosen cake from rim of pan. 13. Cool; remove rim. Chill. |
