A hearty flavorful rice. Use in Indian cooking. Is not overpowered by spices. Ingredients:
1 cup basmati rice |
1 3/4 cups water |
1 teaspoon salt |
2 teaspoons butter |
Directions:
1. Bring water, salt, and butter to a boil. 2. Stir in rice with a fork. 3. Bring back to a boil, then cut heat to simmer, to prevent boiling over . (Do not be tempted to remove lid - this can cause gummy rice.). 4. Cover and cook for 20 minutes. |
