A garnish of shaved Parmesan cheese compliments this fresh herb marinara sauce. Prep: 35 min Cook: 20 min Ingredients:
6 cloves garlic |
1/4 cup olive oil |
3 lbs roma tomatoes |
1/2 tsp salt |
1/2 tsp ground pepper |
1/3 cup chopped fresh basil |
Directions:
1. In a 3 quart saucepan, cook garlic in hot oil over medium heat for 1 minute. Stir in tomatoes, salt and pepper. Reduce heat to medium-low. Cook, uncovered for 15 to 20 minutes or until sauce is thickened and chunky, stirring occasionally. Stir in basil. Simmer for 5 minutes more. If desired, adjust the seasonings to taste. Makes 3 cups. |
