Simple to do, and a delight to add as a garnish to other dishes. My favorite is to swirl it into my Roasted Tomato soup just before serving. Ingredients:
1 bunch basil, leaves picked from stems |
1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste |
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil |
1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar |
Directions:
1. Make a paste by crushing basil leaves and salt with a mortar and pestle. Stir in the olive oil and balsamic vinegar. |
