You'll love the fresh basil flavor in this classic cocktail. We liked it without vodka, but if you prefer a spirited version, add 3 cups chilled vodka to the pitcher before serving. Ingredients:
8 cups low-sodium tomato juice |
1 cup packed fresh basil leaves |
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice |
1/4 cup worcestershire sauce |
1 tablespoon hot sauce |
1/2 to 1 tsp. freshly ground black pepper |
1/4 teaspoon celery seeds |
garnish: fresh basil |
Directions:
1. Place 1 cup tomato juice and 1 cup basil in a blender, and pulse until basil is pureed. Add lemon juice and next 4 ingredients. Add remaining tomato juice as needed to fill blender, and pulse to blend. Pour mixture into a serving pitcher; stir in remaining tomato juice. 2. Fill glasses half-full with crushed ice. Pour drink to fill glasses. Garnish, if desired. |
