Your basic quiche. Simple yet delicious, switch up the meats, veggies, or cheeses for a different twist. Ingredients:
3 eggs beaten |
1 1/2 c. half and half (i use fat free) |
salt and pepper to taste |
1/2 bacon cooked crisp and crumbled |
1/2 med. onion chopped |
1 1/2 c. shredded swiss cheese |
1 ready to bake pie shell ( i use pillsbury) |
Directions:
1. Cook bacon until crisp, drain, set aside and crumble when cooled. 2. Drain most of the bacon grease out of the skillet but leave 1 tblspn. 3. Cook onions in bacon grease until lightly browned, remove and set aside with the bacon 4. Meanwhile mix beaten eggs, half and half, salt and pepper together. 5. Prepare pie crust and press into a pie plate. 6. Mix cooled bacon, onions and shredded swiss to the egg mixture. 7. Pour into crust. 8. Bake 350 for about 35 minutes or longer....until knife inserted into center comes out clean and the quiche is firm. 9. I always place my pie plate on a cookie sheet when I bake my quiches or pies to catch any drips or over spills that may happen. 10. Enjoy! |
