Basic Whole-Wheat Turkey Stuffing |

Stuffing for turkey or chicken using dried bread cut into cubes. Add seasonings as desired. I use thyme, sage, salt, and pepper. Ingredients:
3 stalks (158g) celery |
1 medium (88g) apple |
10 slices (240g) whole-wheat bread |
1 medium (141g) onion |
2 teaspoons (21g) butter |
2 teaspoons olive oil |
1 teaspoon vegetable oil |
1 teaspoon chicken bouillon |
3 large (54g) mushrooms |
3 cloves (7g) garlic |
Directions:
1. Dry out bread overnight or on low heat in the oven for about one hour. 2. Chop vegetables and apple. 3. Add oil to pan and saute vegetables, apple, and seasonings until done. 4. Add 1 cup of water to pan, bring to boil. Add bouillon and dissolve and then stir in dried bread. 5. Cook in covered casserole dish at 350 F for 30 minutes. |
