This recipe takes advantage of this time saving ingredient to make pastries. I love adding a chocolate filling and braiding the dough.Jenny Reece, Lowry, Minnesota Ingredients:
3 cups king arthur unbleached all-purpose flour, divided |
1/4 cup sugar |
1 package (1/4 ounce) quick-rise yeast |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 cup milk |
1/2 cup butter, softened |
1/4 cup water |
1 egg |
Directions:
1. In a bowl, combine 2 cups flour, sugar, yeast and salt. In a saucepan, heat milk, butter and water to 120°-130°. Add to dry ingredients; beat just until moistened. Add egg and remaining flour; beat until smooth. Shape into a ball. Do not knead. Cover and let rest for 10 minutes. Use for Braided Coffee Cake or Coffee Cake Ring. Yield: 1 recipe. |
