I found this recipe in a Magic Chef cookbook from 1936. My picky new boyfriend did not like mine so I thought I would try something really simple. He liked this one but prefered that it be cooked until much drier than I like it, I followed the hour long cooking time the recipe called for and then put his back in for another 15 minutes that way we both were happy. So here is a basic simple recipe for meatloaf, I like it because I almost always have all these ingredients on hand. Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs ground beef |
1 cup cracker crumb |
1 1/2 tablespoons onions, chopped |
2 teaspoons salt |
1/2 teaspoon pepper |
3/4 cup milk |
1 egg |
2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce |
1 tablespoon butter |
Directions:
1. Place all ingredients except butter in a mixing bowl. Mix until all ingredients are incorporated. Place in a greased 13X9 inch glass baking dish, cover with butter. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. |
