I manipulated this one just a little, the original recipe being from Kaskey's. It's an easy recipe, great for beginners. Ingredients:
1 ounce onion soup mix (packet) |
2 lbs ground chuck |
2 eggs |
1/4 cup water |
1 2/3 cups catsup, divided |
3/4 cup breadcrumbs |
1 large onion, chopped |
1 teaspoon seasoning salt |
2 tablespoons brown sugar (dark if available) |
cooking spray (to spray the casserole dish) |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients thoroughly in a bowl except for 1 cup of the catsup and the brown sugar (set those two remaining ingredients aside). 2. Shape into a somewhat flattened loaf and lay it into a casserole dish that has been sprayed with the cooking spray. 3. Mix together the remaining 1 cup of catsup and the brown sugar - spread this over the top of the meatloaf. 4. In an over pre-heated to 350 degrees, bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes, uncovered. 5. At the end of baking, pour off any grease and allow to sit for 10 minutes prior to slicing. |
