Easy meatballs, baked in the oven with sauce. Perfect for meatball sandwiches or spaghetti and meatballs. These are really basic, you can spice yours up by adding parmesan cheese or red pepper flakes to the mix, you can stuff a cube of mozzarella inside the meatballs... When I have red wine in the house, I also drizzle a cup of red wine over the meatballs and sauce before baking! Feel free to adjust as you like! Ingredients:
1/3 lb ground veal |
1/3 lb ground pork |
1/3 lb ground beef |
1/2 red onion |
3 -4 garlic cloves |
1/2 cup parsley |
1/2 cup italian seasoned breadcrumbs |
1 egg |
salt |
pepper |
1 (24 ounce) jar marinara sauce |
Directions:
1. 1) Preheat oven to 400°F. 2. 2) Mince (very, very fine) onion, garlic and parsley. 3. 3) Use hands to mix ground meats, minced onion, minced garlic, minced parsley, bread crumbs and egg. 4. 4) Add pinch of salt and black pepper. 5. 5) Use hands to roll meatballs into 1/2 inch to 1 inch in diameter (whatever your preference). Put rolled meatballs into 9x13 baking pan. 6. 6) Cover meatballs with sauce (you can use homemade, but jarred works just fine). 7. 7) Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. |
