Basic, low calorie crepe recipe. Ingredients:
2 egg whites |
1/4 cup skim milk |
1/4 cup water |
1 tbsp margarine |
1/2 cup flour |
1 dash of salt |
Directions:
1. Slightly beat egg* whites with whisk, melt margarine* 2. Mix with milk* and water 3. Whisk in sifted flour and salt until smooth (don't use a fork, it never seems to get it smooth enough) 4. Let sit for an hour (or less if you're impatient) 5. Lightly grease 8 frying pan, heated over medium-low heat 6. Pour up to 1/4 cup batter into pan, quickly turning until bottom is coated 7. Cook until top is dry and bottom is lightly golden, about a minute or two 8. Flip, cook for another minute, until other side is done 9. Remove from pan 10. Serve hot with fruit or syrup or just eat it plain 11. *For vegan crepes, use egg replacers, vegan butter/margarine, and soy milk |
