Basic Beer Batter

This is the only batter recipe I use, and I find it works the best for all types of foods.
Ingredients:
1 cup flour
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon garlic salt
3/4 cup flat beer
2 eggs, lightly beaten
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Directions:
1. Combine all dry ingredients.
2. Add liquid ingredients and mix well.
3. Allow batter to chill in refrigerator for a least 1 hour before using.
4. Dip food in batter and place into hot oil.
