This recipe came out of my hometowns' Extension Homemakers Cookbook published in 1977. It's a favorite of mine and now my married daughter has made it a favorite for her family. If there are any left the next day, try eating them in a hoagie roll.....yummy. This recipe came from Mrs. Mary Frady of Cowee Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef |
1/2 cup milk |
1 cup crushed saltine |
1 chopped onion |
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce |
3 tablespoons sugar |
2 tablespoons vinegar |
1 cup catsup |
1/2 cup water |
Directions:
1. Mix first 4 ingredients and form into balls. 2. Brown in pan on top of stove. 3. Turn to brown. 4. Combine sauce ingredients and pour over browned meat balls. 5. Simmer 45 minutes on top of stove. |
