Found this in a book in the history of and as I think cooked cabbage is very under rated I thought I needed to share. Ingredients:
1 large cabbage |
salt and pepper to taste |
1/4 inch slice of onion diced |
2 slices of bacon cut into 1” pieces |
or one tbl spoon margarine |
Directions:
1. Core Cabbage leaving a 3-4 inch cavity 2. Sprinkle the cavity with salt and pepper 3. Fill with diced onion 4. If using bacon place on top of onion 5. If using margarine place on top of onion 6. Double wrap in foil 7. Place on grill with cavity upright 8. Cook over indirect heat for 2-3 hours until soft |
