A very slightly modified recipe from Ingredients:
1 cup ketchup |
1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed |
1/3 cup sugar |
1/4 cup honey |
1/4 cup molasses |
2 teaspoons mustard |
2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground |
1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke |
1 egg, lightly beaten |
1/3 cup quick oats |
1/2 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground |
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt |
1/4 teaspoon onion salt |
1 1/2 lbs ground beef (80/20) |
Directions:
1. Combine all sauce ingredients in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat. Set aside 1 cup of sauce. 2. Gently mix all burger ingredients, plus remaining sauce from the pan, until just combined. Form into 6 patties. 3. Grill, covered, over medium heat for 6-8 minutes on each side. Baste with 1/2 cup of the reserved sauce during the last 5 minutes. Serve on buns with the toppings of your choce and the remaining sauce. |
