Michael and I wanted something sweet and tangy for the High on the Hog barbecue sauce contest. We won a prize, I don't remember which one (it was not first), but it is first in our house. Ingredients:
6 shallots |
4 spring onions |
2 yellow onions |
1 garlic clove |
1 tablespoon butter |
1 (8 ounce) bottle ketchup (heinz) |
1/2 cup brown sugar |
1/2 lemon, juice of |
2 tablespoons vinegar |
1/2 cup bourbon |
Directions:
1. Saute first 4 ingredients in butter until translucent. 2. Add remaining ingredients and simmer gently 10 minutes. |
