A delicious southern recipe- From the 1995 Heart Healthy Cookbook of delicious healthy recipes, Edina, MN. Makes about 1 1/2 to 2 cups. Ingredients:
2 tablespoons nonstick cooking spray |
1/2 cup chopped onion |
1/4 cup chopped celery |
1/2 cup low sodium ketchup |
1/3 cup water |
2 tablespoons lemon juice |
1 tablespoon brown sugar |
1 tablespoon low-sodium worcestershire sauce |
1 tablespoon vinegar |
1 tablespoon prepared mustard |
2 -3 dashes liquid smoke (optional) |
Directions:
1. Coat a non-stick skillet with cooking spray. 2. Saute onion and celery until tender. 3. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 15 minutes. 4. Brush over meat before grilling or baking. |
