This is my favorite barbecue sauce. I usually make a big batch and freeze it in smaller batches for later. Ingredients:
1/4 cup vinegar |
1/2 cup water |
1 tablespoon sugar |
1 tablespoon prepared mustard |
1/2 teaspoon pepper |
1 1/2 teaspoons salt |
1/4 teaspoon cayenne |
1 small lemon, thinly sliced |
1 onion, thinly sliced |
1/4 cup butter |
1/2 cup ketchup |
1/4 teaspoon liquid smoke |
2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce |
Directions:
1. Add all ingredients except ketchup, liquid smoke and Worcestershire sauce in a small pan. 2. Simmer for 20 minutes. 3. Add ketchup, liquid smoke and Worcestershire sauce. 4. Bring to a boil; set aside to cool. |
