This is a very unique recipe - no karo syrup. I had lost this recipe while moving My niece, Sabrina Fast, (who lives in Canada) told me that she had made this pecan pie for Thanksgiving. I had given her this recipe when she got married. I was so pleasantly surprised and happy to have this recipe again. Try it, you'll like it. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups brown sugar (packed) |
1/2 cup granulated sugar |
1/4 cup water |
1/2 cup evaporated milk |
1 1/2 cups pecans |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
2 eggs |
3/4 teaspoon vanilla |
2 tablespoons flour |
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients well and turn into unbaked pie shell. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 for an additional 35-40 minutes, or until filling is puffed in center and is well browned. Let pie cool thoroughly before cutting. Enjoy! |
