I don't know how Southern this is, but is is a true Texas recipe that my cousin from Texas makes for her family all the time. Very tasty Ingredients:
1 (28 ounce) can size can pork and beans (aprx 3 1/2 c) |
1 (15 ounce) can baby lima beans, drained |
1 (15 ounce) can green beans, drained |
1 (15 ounce) can red kidney beans (new orleans style) |
8 slices bacon, fried and drained |
onion, to taste |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 cup ketchup |
1 tablespoon dry mustard |
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce |
1 1/2 tablespoons white vinegar |
1/2 cup brown sugar |
Directions:
1. After frying bacon,break up and put in beans. 2. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. |
