This is one of my favorite desserts. It can be made fancy by serving in a wine or champagne glass, or just eat it out of a bowl. Whatever you desire. This does not call for lighting the rum on fire either. Ingredients:
1/4 cup margarine |
2/3 cup dark brown sugar |
3 1/2 tablespoons rum |
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract |
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
3 bananas, peeled and sliced |
1/4 cup walnuts (coarsely chopped) |
1 pint vanilla ice cream |
Directions:
1. In a large, deep skillet over medium heat, melt butter. 2. Stir in brown sugar, rum, vanilla and cinnamon. 3. When mixture begins to bubble, place bananas and walnuts in pan. 4. Cook until bananas are hot, 1-2 minutes. 5. Serve at once over vanilla ice cream. |
