Unusual Shortcake dessert...From Disney Magazine Ingredients:
biscuits |
2 ounces (about 1/3 cup) brie cheese, diced |
2 1/2 cups bisquick |
1/3 cup granulated sugar |
3/4 cup water |
sauce |
1 tbls. butter |
4 large bananas, cut into 1/2-inch slices |
1 tbls. sugar |
1 cup plus 3 tbls. brown sugar |
2 cups heavy cream |
2 tbls. dark rum |
2 tbls.banana liqueur |
garnish |
whipped cream |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 2. Biscuits 3. In mixing bowl, add diced cheese, Bisquick and sugar 4. Mix well. 5. Add water and mix thoroughly to make a wet batter 6. Drop batter in 4 mounds onto a greased cookie sheet and bake on the top rack for 20 minutes or until cooked through 7. (when wooden pick inserted in middle comes out clean). 8. Remove from oven and cool on wire rack 9. Sauce 10. Melt butter in saucepan 11. Saute bananas in butter for about 3 minutes 12. Add sugars and stir until melted 13. Add cream and, stirring constantly, cook over high heat until it reaches a boil 14. Reduce heat to low and cook about 10 minutes 15. Add rum and banana liqueur 16. To serve, cut biscuits in half and pour sauce over bottom half 17. Cover and top with whipped cream |
