This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Marcus Estate in Greenville, Texas in 1994. Ingredients:
8 ounces cream cheese at room temperature |
1/4 cup brown sugar |
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon plus additional for garnish |
4 tablespoons butter |
6 ripe bananas peeled and halved lengthwise |
1/4 cup heavy cream |
Directions:
1. Combine cheese, brown sugar and cinnamon and mix thoroughly then set aside. 2. Heat butter in skillet over moderate heat and sauté bananas until golden on both sides. 3. Arrange half the bananas in a single layer in a shallow baking dish. 4. Top with half the cream cheese mixture and repeat. 5. Pour cream over top and bake in a preheated 350 oven for 15 minutes. 6. Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon and serve immediately. |
