For Birthday's, young people always requested a plan yellow cake with Grandmas Banana Sauce. It makes a supreme dessert. This came from Cooking With Carol A Taste Of The Past. I have not tried this, just posting for safe keeping. Ingredients:
1 cup sugar |
2 tablespoons cornstarch |
2 cups boiling water |
2 bananas, mashed |
1 banana, cut in half and sliced |
2 tablespoons butter |
Directions:
1. Mix the sugar and the cornstarch. Add boiling water gradually, stirring constantly. Cook, over low heat for 8-10 minutes. Add mashed bananas, mix thoroughly. Add banana slices and butter. 2. Serve hot. |
