My MIL's famous banana salad - always asked for whenever she's around. Ingredients:
1 cup sugar |
1 tablespoon flour |
1 tablespoon vinegar or 1 tablespoon lemon juice |
1 egg, beaten |
1 cup milk |
6 bananas, sliced |
1/2 cup peanuts, finely chopped for garnish |
Directions:
1. Mix first five ingredients together in a sauce pan, adding the milk last. 2. Cook over low heat until slightly thickened. 3. Cool and store in fridge. 4. Just before serving, quarter or slice bananas into individuals serving dishes. 5. Spoon dressing over bananas. 6. Can sprinkle ground peanuts over if desired. |
