This is the banana bread recipe my mom always makes. It is my favorite! The nuts are optional and the bread tastes just as good without them. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups sugar |
3/4 cup shortening |
2 eggs |
1/4 cup milk |
1 1/2 cups mashed bananas |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda |
3 cups flour |
3/4 cup nuts |
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla |
3/4 cup all-bran cereal |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350. 2. Cream shortening with sugar, add beaten eggs and milk. 3. Sift together flour, salt, and baking soda and add to batter alternating with the banana. 4. Add nuts, then All-Bran and vanilla. 5. Bake for 50-60 minutes. |
