Got this from Grandma too. It is the best. I have experimented with other recipes and always come back to this one. Very moist, and stays moist too. Best flavor the day after baking though. This freezes well with no effect on the taste or texture of the bread. Ingredients:
1/2 cup margarine |
1 cup white sugar |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 egg |
1 cup mashed banana |
1 cup milk |
1 tablespoon milk |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
2 cups flour |
1/2 cup walnuts |
Directions:
1. Cream margarine, sugar and vanilla. 2. Add egg and beat well. 3. Add bananas and milk. 4. Add soda and flour, sifted together. 5. Put into a greased and floured pan and bake about 1 hour and 10 minutes, at 350°F. |
