BANANA GUAVA PIE This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Huddleston Estate in Arlington, Texas in 1989.
Ingredients:
1-1/2 cup sliced bananas
1-1/4 cup guava nectar
1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons cornstarch
3 tablespoons cold water
Directions:
1. Baked pie shell or graham cracker crust
2. Combine nectar, juice, sugar and salt in a saucepan and bring to boil over low heat.
3. In small bowl mix cornstarch and water to a smooth paste then stir into saucepan mixture.
4. Stir mixture until thickened and clear then remove from heat and cool.
5. Combine cooled mixture with bananas and pour into shell and serve with whipped cream.
