This recipe uses raisin bread and incorporates cream cheese into the egg mixture. Sounds delish with the raisin bread! Ingredients:
8 slices raisin bread |
2 medium bananas (cut into 1/4 inch slices) |
1 cup milk |
4 ounces cream cheese (softened) |
3 eggs |
1/3 cup sugar |
3 tablespoons flour |
2 teaspoons vanilla extract |
powdered sugar, for topping (optional) |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Butter an 8 x 9 inch pan. Place 4 slices of raisin bread in a single layer in pan. Top with banana slices. Blend milk, cream cheese, eggs, sugar, flour and vanilla together until smooth. Pour over bread and bananas. Top mixture with 4 slices of raisin bread. Let stand 5 minutes (or overnight). Bake 40-45 minutes (50-55 minutes if refrigerated) until set and top is toasted. Remove and let stand 10 minutes. Cut into diagonals. Dust with powdered sugar or maple syrup. |
