Banana Chocolate Chip Cake |

My grandmother used to send me this as a care package in college. It never lasted more than a minute! A favorite of all my friends. ETA-i recently made this with low fat sour cream. It really lost something. I recommend using full fat. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups sugar |
1/2 cup butter |
2 eggs |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1/4 cup sour cream |
1 cup mashed banana |
1 1/2 cups cake flour |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. 2. Cream butter and sugar. 3. Beat eggs very lightly and add. 4. Dissolve baking soda in sour cream. Add to mixture and beat well. 5. Add mashed bananas, flour, salt, and vanilla. Mix well. 6. Mix in chocolate chips. 7. Bake in a well greased 8 x8 pan for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean. |
