Ingredients:
1/2 cup shortening |
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar |
2 eggs |
1 cup mashed ripe banana |
2 cups all-purpose flour |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves |
1/2 cup chopped pecans |
powdered sugar icing |
Directions:
1. Cream shortening in a large mixing bowl; gradually add sugar, beating well. Add eggs and banana; beat well. 2. Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, salt, cinnamon, and cloves in a small mixing bowl; add to creamed mixture, stirring well. Stir in pecans. 3. Drop dough by tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350° for 12 minutes. Remove from cookie sheets, and cool on wire racks. Spread tops of cooled cookies with Powdered Sugar Icing. |
