Wonderful easy puddding to make for your children or grandchildren on those wonderful sunday after noons. Ingredients:
4 cups of day old french bread cubed |
1/4 cup butter, melted |
3 eggs |
2 cups milk |
1/2 cup sugar |
2 t. vanilla |
1;2 t. cinnamon |
1/2 t. nutmeg |
salt |
1 cup sliced firm bananas |
sauce |
3 t butter |
2 t. sugar |
1t. cornstarch |
3/4 cup milk |
1/2 cup light corn syrup |
1t vanilla |
Directions:
1. Place crumbs in 2 qt casserole, greased. 2. pour butter over and toss. 3. In medium bowl, lightly beat eggs, milk, sugar and vanilla cinnamon, nutmeg and salt 4. Stir in bananas then pour over crumbs 5. Stir to coat. 6. Bake uncovered at 375 for 40 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean. 7. Meanwhile, melt butter in small saucepan. 8. Combine sugar and cornstarch. 9. add Butter. 10. Stir in milk 11. Add corn syrup 12. Cook and stir over medium heat til mixtured comes to full boil 13. Boil one minute. 14. remove from heat and stir in vanilla. 15. serve warm sauce over warm pudding. |
