Soooooo moist! Rich flavors from the buttermilk and vanilla make this my favorite banana bread recipe!
Ingredients:
2 cups sugar
3/4 cup butter or 3/4 cup margarine
2 eggs
3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/8 cups buttermilk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups mashed bananas
Directions:
1. Cream butter, add sugar.
2. Beat in eggs, one at a time.
3. Sift dry ingredients together, add alternately with buttermilk.
4. Add vanilla and bananas.
5. Bake in loaf pans at 350ยบ for 1 hour to 1 hour and 20 minutes or until done.
6. When done, bread will turn loose from sides of pan and knife inserted in middle will be clean.
