This recipe has been used over and over. It's the family's favorite and one I give as gifts often. I will omit the nuts when giving to a friend who has an allergy to nuts. Ingredients:
1 cup white sugar |
1/2 cup butter, softened |
3 tbsp. water |
2 eggs |
4 small bananas |
1 tsp. baking soda |
2 tsp. baking powder |
3/4 tsp. salt |
2 cups flour |
1/4 cup walnuts, optional(or whatever nuts you prefer) |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees 2. Combine the sugar, butter, water & eggs. Mix well. 3. Add bananas & mix until well combined. 4. Combine the baking soda, powder, salt & flour and add to the banana mixture; beating well. 5. Fold in nuts, if using. 6. Pour into 4 greased small loaf or 2 large loaf pans. 7. Bake 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. 8. Cool on a wire rack. 9. Freezes really well too. |
