This banana bread is very easy and quick to prepare. A friend of my mother's gave me the recipe. I prefer it without the nuts, but it's entirely up to you. I love the sugar on top; it gives it a nice extra sweetness. Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter |
3/4 cup sugar |
2 eggs |
2 cups flour |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
3 large ripe bananas |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional) |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Grease 9x5x3-inch loaf pan. 3. Cream butter and sugar. 4. Add eggs one at a time. 5. Sift flour, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture. 6. Mixing well, fold in mashed bananas, vanilla and nuts. 7. Pour into loaf pan. 8. Top with a sprinkling of granulated sugar. 9. Bake for 50-60 minutes. |
