I've made this bread for years - my kids' teachers always ask for the recipe! Ingredients:
1 cup sugar |
2 bananas, thinly sliced |
1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine, softened |
2 eggs |
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 cup chopped walnuts |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Grease and flour bottom only of loaf pan. 3. In a large bowl, blend together sugar, bananas, butter and eggs; beat well. 4. Add flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; beat until well blended. 5. Stir in nuts. 6. Spoon batter into prepared loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. 7. Cool in pan for 10 minutes before removing. |
