From the 1961 Lutheran Favorites of St. James Lutheran Church, Howard Lake, Minnesota. Submitted by Mrs. August Weber. Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter, softened |
1/3 cup very ripe banana |
1 unbeaten egg |
1 cup flour |
3/4 cup sugar |
1/4 teaspoon clove |
1/2 teaspoon baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon baking soda |
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/4 teaspoon allspice |
1/4 cup milk |
1/3 cup chopped pecans |
Directions:
1. Cream together butter and bananas. 2. Blend in unbeaten egg. 3. Beat well. 4. Add flour, sugar, cloves, baking powder, salt, soda, cinnamon, and allspice- alternately with milk. 5. Then add chopped pecans. 6. Spread in well greased and pour pan (13 x 9 x 2). 7. Bake at 350 degres for 22 to 25 minutes. |
