BANANA APPLE LOAF This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Malta Estate in Bedford, Texas in 1991. Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter softened |
1/2 cup packed brown sugar |
1/2 cup granulated sugar |
2 eggs |
3 tablespoons sour cream |
1/2 cup mashed bananas |
1 teaspoon banana extract |
2 cups all purpose flour |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
2 apples chopped |
1/2 cup chopped black walnuts |
Directions:
1. Cream together butter and sugars then beat in eggs thoroughly. 2. Blend in sour cream, banana and extract. 3. Combine flour, baking powder, soda and cinnamon then gradually add to butter mixture. 4. Gently fold in chopped apples and nuts then pour into greased and floured loaf pan. 5. Bake about 1 hour at 375 then cool before slicing. |
