This is awesome. Very, very, buttery and very, very moist. I make this often. It always makes a good impression. Ingredients:
3 cups all purpose flour |
2 cups granulated sugar |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1 cup butter room temperature |
2 teaspoons vanilla |
4 eggs |
6 tablespoons butter |
3/4 cup granulated sugar |
3 tablespoons water |
2 teaspoons vanilla |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325. 2. Generously grease a tube pan and dust lightly with flour. 3. In a food processor or mixer blend flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, baking soda, butter, vanilla and eggs together until moistened and beat an additional 3 minutes. 4. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 60 minutes. 5. In a small saucepan combine butter, sugar, water and vanilla and heat until butter melts. 6. Do not boil. 7. When cake is cooked remove from oven and with a long tined fork pierce hot cake 10 to 12 times. 8. Slowly pour hot butter sauce over cake then cool in pan 40 minutes. 9. Remove from pan and serve. |
