Alice Coate's tomato juice-based dressing offers a nice combination of tangy and tart with only a trace of fat. We like our salad dressing tart, but you may want to add a little more sugar if that suits you family's tastes better, suggests the Bryan, Texas reader. Ingredients:
3/4 cup tomato juice |
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar |
1 envelope italian salad dressing mix |
2 teaspoons sugar |
Directions:
1. In a jar with a tight-fitting lid, combine all ingredients; shake well. Store in the refrigerator. Yield: 1 cup. |
