1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour |
1 tablespoon baking powder |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/4 cup shortening |
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons milk |
Directions:
1. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt; stir well. Cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal. Sprinkle milk evenly over flour mixture, stirring until dry ingredients are moistened. 2. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface; knead lightly 10 to 12 times. Roll dough to 1/2- inch thickness; cut with a 1 1/2- inch biscuit cutter. |
