'Nuff said! My mom's prize-winning biscuit recipe, which doesn't really have a recipe. These are 'about' amounts because she just throws some of this, some of that in a bowl! Enjoy! Ingredients:
3 c. flour |
1 1/2 tbsp. baking powder |
1 tsp. salt |
2 tbsp. sugar |
2/3 c. shortening |
milk, about 3/4 c. |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. 2. Cut all ingredients except for milk together in a large bowl until you have fine crumbs. 3. Mix in enough milk, about 3/4 cup, until you have a soft dough. Do not overmix. 4. Turn out dough onto a floured board; knead a few times. Roll out to about 3/4-inch thick. Cut out with biscuit cutter, or cut into squares with knife. 5. Placed on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 - 15 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm. |
