An easy biscuit recipe. They taste great with butter and jam. Also a good base for buscuits and gravy. The aroma while baking reminds you of grandma's! Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour |
4 tsp baking powder |
3 tbsp butter |
1/2 tsp salt |
3/4 cup milk |
some melted butter for brushing tops of biscuits. |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350F/170C/Gas Mark4. 2. Mix dry ingredients. 3. Add butter in small pieces and cut with two knoves or a pastry blender until the flour has the consistency of cornmeal. 4. Add milk and stir with wooden spoon until mixed. 5. Roll out 1 inch thick on a floured board or worktop. 6. Cut out biscuits using a round cookie cutter, scone cutter or clean empty soup can. 7. Place closely together in a greased square baking pan. 8. Brush tops with some melted butter. 9. Bake about 15 minutes, or until golden brown. |
