I Made this years ago in Home Ec. and still serving to my family today. Ingredients:
1 lb mostaccioli pasta (cooked as per box) |
1 lb ground beef |
1/2-1 lb bulk sausage (optional) |
16 ounces whole milk ricotta cheese |
16 ounces mozzarella cheese (i use the brick and grate myself, i think that its way better than pre-packaged) |
1 lb spaghetti sauce, depending on how much sauce you like (or more, i make my own) |
1 tablespoon parsley |
1 tablespoon italian seasoning |
Directions:
1. Cook ground beef and sausage in pan and drain. 2. Add Ricotta Cheese, Parsley and Ital. seasoning and mix well. 3. Add cooked pasta, 1°C of grated mozzarella and sauce to your liking, leaving about a 1/2c. for the top before baking. 4. Mix well and put into a 13 X 9 pan. 5. Add a light layer of sauce on top so ziti does not burn. 6. Cook at 350* for 30 minutes. 7. Cover with remaining Mozzarella cheese and bake for an additional 15 minutes. 8. Enjoy! |
